Designation: Yinsheng

Yinsheng Zhang joined the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as a professor of land surface hydrology in October 2010. He has more than 30 years of research experience on the cryosphere in Antarctica, Siberia, Mongolia, the Tibetan plateau, as well as the upper Indus basin. Currently, his research is focused on the responses of land-surface hydrological processes to climatic change and their feedback to climatic systems, which may be reflected through variation in evaportranspiration, soil moisture, and discharge processes.
