Hemant R Ojha

Dr Hemant Ojha is a senior fellow at the University of Melbourne and a research fellow at the University of New South Wales. Between 1996 and 2010, he worked as an action researcher, activist, and policy analyst in Nepal’s forest sector. Additionally, he established ForestAction, an organization renowned for its critical policy-oriented research. In 2011, he founded the Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies, a policy think tank based in Kathmandu. Ojha has published books with Routledge, Cambridge, and Adroit, and his papers have appeared in several high-impact journals that focus on society and the environment. His current research revolves around issues like climate change and governance, the interface between science and policy in environmental policymaking, food security, water security in urban areas, local democracy, and environmental sustainability.
